Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is a fatty acid that occurs naturally in every cell of the
body and is essential to the chemical reactions that allow our bodies to produce
energy, particularly aerobically. As a supplement, it is rapidly absorbed into
the blood and the cells where it can prevent free-radical damage due to its
role as an antioxidant. As an antioxidant, ALA is unique because it is both fat
and water-soluble and so it can work throughout the body. It also appears to
help "recycle" other antioxidants, such as Vitamin C and glutathione. ALA may

Quercetin belongs to a group of compounds called flavonoids that are found
in fruits, vegetables, leaves, and grains. A number of health benefits have been

CoQ10, also known as ubiquinone or coenzyme Q, is a key component of the
electron transport chain and aids in aerobic metabolism and ATP production.
CoQ10 has been shown to aid in mitochondrial and cardiovascular function.
