Where's the organic in Aubrey "Organics"?? February 21, 2010 Once Was David (San Diego) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think it's misleading that a company with the word "organic" in its name would sell a product like this that has no organic ingredients! I bought this bar of soap thinking it was organic (since the label says "Aubrey Organics"), but later when I looked carefully on the label there is nothing in it that's organic.
I can't believe this is legal. They are intentionally misleading us.
I will never buy another bar of soap or personal care product from Aubrey or Avalon or any of these other pseudo-organic, "green" companies until they actually offer USDA-certified organic products.
Addicting, but not a miracle worker January 21, 2010 Jillian M. Kurek (Grand Rapids, MI, USA) I have been using this soap for 3+ months now, and someone else mentioned a 'rubbery' feel, its more like a 'clean' feel. It doesn't leave a residue and foams up really well with a loofah - the bar lasts a long time especially if you place it on a wire soap holder so it can dry properly. I have dry, sensitive skin, KP and acne as well, and it didn't do anything significant for my skin in terms of clearing up these conditions but it definitely softened and moisturized my skin and reduced my KP bumps. The smell is a little odd, but pleasant. I'm addicted to it for the simple fact I feel very clean and not dried out, so I bought the sea buckthorn face moisturizer as well.
Sea Buckthorn Soap is AMAZING January 1, 2010 Campgirl (MA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I will never use another soap. Started using it daily on face and body in the shower when I started getting that change in season dry skin itch. I have not needed to moisturize AT ALL! The soap lasted longer than I expected--approx 3 months. I am down to a sliver and was reordering when I realized that I needed to share my review since I rely heavily on others opinions at Amazon. I originally purchased at Whole Foods but they are paring down their stock and removed it from the shelves. I told them that they removed the best soap there is and they offered to order it for me, but I cannot wait and I am now ordering a larger supply on line to justify the shipping cost from The Vitamin Shoppe. There are several of those stores around me as well, but they also do not stock on the shelf. I do not have acne so I cannot recommend for that reason. All I can say is that my skin has never felt better.
Great soap October 6, 2009 L. Kopp (Palm Springs, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was doing research on adult acne and rosacea and found a site that mentioned using seabuckthorn oil and did a bit more research and found this soap. I have been using it for about 4 months now with great improvement on my skin. I am running shy and tried using Aveeno with oatmeal thinking that since it is hypoallergenic and for sensitive skin it would work similar. It feels good unfortunately I am starting to break out again. I am back on Amazon ordering this soap. Do not want to run out. Love it, love it.
Not a cure for KP but noticeable effects September 11, 2009 Robert R. Rhinehart I, like many others have mild to somewhat prominent Keratosis Pelaris and was recommended this product from a forum. I used this in combination with the lotion, but not the shampoo or pills. After a couple weeks I really did begin to notice a difference. As part of the experiment I did not tell my girlfriend I started using it but sure enough after about 2 weeks she kept on commenting on how much better my skin looked and felt. When I stopped using it for about a month the old symptoms returned. It's not a cure but it certainly helped for me and is definitely worth the money for anyone getting tired of unsightly, itchy bumps on their skin. For best results I used the soap in the shower and then the lotion afterwards while my skin was about 3/4 dry. It also smells pretty good.
